After the refs gave Luka Dončić his 16th technical foul of the season, he is serving a one-game suspension tonight after the Washington Wizards
The Los Angeles Lakers will be without their start guard for tonight’s game against the Washington Wizards.
The NBA is suspending Luka Dončić one game after he earned his 16th technical foul of the season in the Lakers 116-99 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday.
Midway through the third quarter Friday, Dončić and Nets forward Ziaire Williams exchanged words with one another. After the back-and-forth, Dončić appeared to give Williams a light push, resulting in Williams swinging his arms back on Dončić.
The refs gave both players a tech after the interaction. After the game, Dončić said Williams initiated things when he started screaming in his face.
“I just wanted to get out of there,” Dončić said. “They said my push was exaggerated, which it was obviously not.”

With Dončić suspended tonight, the Lakers will be without one of their top players in the league. Dončić has dropped at least 30 points in 12 consecutive games now and won back-to-back Western Conference Player of the Week awards, as the Lakers are 11-1 in their past 12.
Dončić originally earned his 16th tech of the season on March 21, which would have suspended him for the Lakers game against the Detroit Pistons on March 23. However, the Lakers appealed this tech, and it was rescinded.

Interestingly, the Wizards acquired center Anthony Davis — the key piece sent to the Dallas Mavericks in the Dončić blockbuster trade — earlier this season, but he’s been out since Jan. 8 with a hand injury. Thus, instead of a matchup of the two pieces traded for each other, neither is playing.
The Lakers will play the Wizards at 7 p.m. at Crypto.com Arena.
