Anthony Edwards misses Timberwolves’ opening tipoff in return from injury

Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards was set to make his return to the court on Monday — but that return hit a slight delay.

Edwards, who has been out for six games with a knee injury, was originally listed as questionable on Monday. And shortly before tipoff against the Dallas Mavericks, Edwards was named as a member of the Wolves’ starting lineup.

But then, at that tipoff, Edwards was nowhere to be found. Instead, Mike Conley had to fill in at the last second because Edwards was late.

Edwards did eventually check in, subbing in for Conley one minute into the first quarter.
