LeBron James is now tied with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the winningest individual player in NBA history after the Los Angeles Lakers’ 120-101 victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday night.
With Luka Dončić unavailable against the Wizards due to a suspension for accruing 16 technical fouls this season, James stepped up in his absence with 21 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds for his third triple-double of the 2025-26 campaign.
Between the regular season and playoffs, James and Abdul-Jabbar are now even with 1,228 career wins.
This marks at least the third record held by Abdul-Jabbar that James has tied or broken. The first one was the all-time scoring record during the 2022-23 season.
Earlier this month in a loss to the Denver Nuggets on March 5, James passed Abdul-Jabbar for most field-goals made in NBA history. The King also became the all-time leader in minutes played last week, but that was a record held by Robert Parrish.
In terms of regular-season records, James ranks first in five different categories and top six in 10 categories.
Abdul-Jabbar had a career record of 1,228-569 for a winning percentage of .683 between the regular season and playoffs. James’ record is 1,228-680 for a career winning percentage of .644.
James won’t have to wait long as he looks to pass Abdul-Jabbar on the all-time wins list. The Lakers are back in action on Tuesday night when they host, in a nice bit of scheduling kismet, the Cleveland Cavaliers at Crypto.com Arena.
