Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley published an article on Tuesday that chose one word to describe each NBA team. When it came to the Boston Celtics, Buckley’s choice was telling: “Favorites.”

“Detroit Pistons fans, players and coaches will all hate this, as they should, but they had trouble distancing themselves from the Celtics before Jayson Tatum was healthy,” Buckley wrote.

“Now, he’s back and looking better by the game with 58 points, 17 rebounds and 13 assists (against two turnovers) over his last two outings. As Jaylen Brown just informed all the haters, this has been one heck of a gap year.”

“While Pistons’ skeptics can point to things like their overreliance on Cade Cunningham and relative lack of big-stage experience, it’s just hard to nitpick the Shamrocks,” Buckley continued. “They are brilliantly balanced (top five on offense and defense), bolstered by both high-end talent and depth and fully aware of what’s required for a title trek.”

Boston dropped a game on Monday to the Atlanta Hawks, bringing their season record to 50-25. The Celts will look to bounce back on Wednesday in Miami against Bam Adebayo and the Heat.
