MVP debate heats up as Victor Wembanyama makes case for award over Shai Gilgeous-Alexander
Gilgeous-Alexander is the leader to win his second MVP, but Victor Wembanyama is closing fast, and he had something to say about the race for MVP.
WELLS WHO’S NOT DONE. THEY GOT A LONG WAYS TO GO IN THE SEASON. SHE’S OFF AND RUNNING. WELCOME TO THE SHOW. I’M BRYAN KEATING OF COURSE. LET’S GET TO THE NBA TONIGHT BECAUSE LOOK THE RACE IN THE WEST THAT’S GOING TO GO DOWN TO THE WIRE BETWEEN THE OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER AND THE SAN ANTONIO SPURS. IT IS CLOSE. OKC IN FRONT. WE’LL SEE IF THEY CAN HANG ON THE RACE FOR THE MVP. OH YEAH. THAT’S DOWN TO THE WIRE TOO. AND AT LEAST TONIGHT AS WE SIT HERE TODAY’S G A IS IN THE LEAD. BUT HE’S GOING TO HAVE TO HANG ON TO WIN IT. I THINK IT’S GOOD FOR THE LEAGUE. I THINK IT’S GOOD CHATTER. IT GIVES PEOPLE SOMETHING TO TALK ABOUT. THERE’S A LOT OF GOOD PLAYERS IN THIS LEAGUE AND. A LOT OF GUYS IN THE CONVERSATION BECAUSE OF THAT. IN ONE OF THE MOST HOTLY CONTESTED AND HIGH LEVEL MVP RACES IN RECENT MEMORY, S G A PUT HIS STAMP ON ANOTHER ONE, FADING AWAY. IT’S GOOD AND HELPED THE THUNDER WIN THEIR 15TH OUT OF THE LAST 16 GAMES. A LOT OF TIMES I TRY TO LIKE, LET THE GAME COME TO ME. I TRY TO JUST LIKE PLAY WITHIN THE GAME, DO WHATEVER THE GAME TELLING ME AND. LIKE TONIGHT I JUST FELT LIKE I NEEDED TO GO TAKE IT AND SHAY GILGEOUS ALEXANDER IS THE BETTING FAVORITE TO WIN HIS SECOND STRAIGHT MVP. BUT WATCH OUT, VICTOR WEMBANYAMA IS CLOSING FAST AND HE HAS THOUGHTS. I THINK RIGHT NOW IT IS STILL REASONABLE THAT THERE IS A DEBATE, BUT AS I SAID, I WANT TO MAKE SURE MY GOAL IS TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE’S NO DEBATE ANYMORE AT THE END OF THE SEASON, AND WEMBY MIGHT HAVE A CASE IF THE SPURS CAN CATCH THE THUNDER IN THE WEST RIGHT NOW, THEY TRAIL OKC BY TWO AND A HALF GAMES WITH ONLY SIX GAMES TO PLAY, AND VICTOR WEMBANYAMA MADE HIS CASE WHY HE SHOULD BE THE MVP ONE, TWO, THREE DEFENSE IS 50% OF THE GAME AND THAT IS UNDERVALUED SO FAR IN THE MVP RACE. BLOCKED BY WENDY. THAT’S BECAUSE I BELIEVE I’M THE MOST IMPACTFUL PLAYER DEFENSIVELY. GOT IT BACK. BYARS. OH. IT DROPS. WE ALMOST SWEPT THE SENIOR SEASON AND WE DOMINATED HIM THREE TIMES WITH EVERY TEAM. LETS IT FLY. MY THIRD ARGUMENT WOULD BE THAT OFFENSE IMPACT IS NOT JUST POINTS, NOT JUST POINTS. WELL, SJ HAD 47 OF THOSE ON MONDAY NIGHT, BUT THE MOVES BYARS. AND THEN IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE GAME, HE WAS ASKED TO MAKE HIS OWN CASE FOR THE MVP. NO, I’M GOO
