JJ Redick credited the Los Angeles Lakers’ dominant March to improved team health, Luka Doncic’s phenomenal play (600 points in a month), and strong contributions from the entire roster.

The Los Angeles Lakers went 15-2 in March and clinched a playoff spot with a 127-113 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night.
The win also marked the 100th victory for head coach JJ Redick with the Lakers, now in his second season with the team.
Redick explained what changed for Los Angeles during its dominant March run, which lifted the team to third place in the Western Conference.
“I think it was a confluence of things, starting with health,” Redick said. “I think it’s much easier when you have a consistent stretch of health to sort of settle into roles, minutes, and rotations. We never found that throughout the season.
“Another big part of that was guys really just embracing things,” he added. “I think Luka has had as good of a month as anybody that I can remember in modern NBA, at least since I’ve been part of it. Certainly, LeBron has had those, Harden has had those, Steph has had those, but he just played phenomenally this month, and then everyone else just had huge impacts.
“AR [Austin Reaves] getting healthy, LeBron on both ends of the floor, DA [Deandre Ayton] and Jaxson [Hayes] really just filling in and doing what they need to do to help this team win at a high level. Luke [Kennard], Rui [Hachimura], their shooting, Jake [LaRavia] and [Marcus] Smart, their defense.
“Bronny [James], Vando [Jarred Vanderbilt], Maxi [Kleber], any time those guys had to play, we had a good contribution from everyone to the group.”
The Lakers improved to 50-26 on the season and will next face the league-leading Oklahoma City Thunder.
