Kevin Porter Jr. has authored a resurrection season this year for the Milwaukee Bucks. It has not been a great season for the Bucks, and a lot of the focus this season has been on whether Giannis Antetokounmpo was going to play for another team. During that time frame, Giannis has also missed a lot of time due to injury.

During that time, former USC Trojan Kevin Porter Jr. was the lead guy for the Milwaukee Bucks. Porter was on his way to having one of his best career seasons, and this year was full of great showings. This season, Porter Jr. was the second leading scorer for the Bucks, averaging 17.4 points per game, 7.4 assists per game, and shot 46.5% percent from the field.

It has been reported that head coach Doc Rivers does not believe Porter Jr. will see the court again this season. It is a tough blow, given what Porter was able to accomplish in just 38 games for the Bucks. He became a great facilitator and playmaker for Milwaukee, leading this offense with competent play without one of the biggest stars in the game.

Kevin Porter Jr. will be a free agent this upcoming offseason, but he has a player option, which will give him the decision on whether he will stay with the Bucks for another season. Given the success he had in his short sample size, staying in Milwaukee another year would be the best thing for his career. If there is a world without Giannis Antetokounmpo, the Bucks would be happy to retain Kevin Porter Jr. to be part of the new era.
