The Hornets won five in a row before losing back-to-back against the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics over the weekend. The Nets finally got back in the win column on Sunday by beating the Sacramento Kings to end a 10-game losing streak. This series is tied up going into this Game 3 finale in Brooklyn. The Nets tied up the series on Dec. 1 with a 116-103 win at home. Michael Porter Jr. went off to tie the series with a game-high 35 points, while Noah Clowney added 18. Kon Knueppel led Charlotte with 18 points. The good news for the Hornets is that they have 21 more wins than the Nets, and are the giant 15.5-point favorites to win the series tonight. This game comes at an important time for Charlotte, which has clinched a play-in position but is currently in 10th place in the Eastern Conference standings.

The Hornets are coming off a 114-99 loss against the Celtics on Sunday at home. Jayson Tatum led all scorers with 32 points, and Payton Pritchard added 28 points to help lead Boston to its third straight victory. The Hornets struggled in the first half and shot just 28 percent from three. LaMelo Ball led the Hornets with 19 points, but Charlotte couldn’t overcome the Celtics even though they were missing Jaylen Brown, who was dealing with Achilles tendinitis.

The Nets have one less win than Sacramento, but Brooklyn routed the Kings 116-99 at home to end their losing streak and tie the series in the finale. Ochai Agabji scored 18 points off the bench in 25 minutes to lead Brooklyn. The game was essentially over when Brooklyn went on a 23-7 run in the middle of the second quarter. The competition gets much tougher tonight, though, even at home.
