The Brooklyn Nets head into the 2025 NBA offseason with the most projected cap space in the league and they will have to find something to do with the money. Brooklyn will most likely be active in free-agency to improve the talent floor of the roster and it seems like they could be considering a reunion with a player who had some of his best years with the franchise.
Atlanta Hawks forward Caris LeVert will be an unrestricted free-agent this summer after ending the 2024-25 season in Atlanta following being away by the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Hawks are a franchise that will have some important decisions to make this offseason after missing the playoffs for the second straight season under head coach Quin Snyder. The Nets could have some interest in seeing LeVert playing at Barclays Center again.
“The Hawks would like to keep free agent wing Caris LeVert but they’re well aware that he will be drawing outside interest,” Sam Amico of Hoops Wire wrote on Saturday. “Two of those teams are believed to be the Pistons and Nets, sources told Hoops Wire.”
LeVert, 30, is coming off a solid season overall as he averaged 12.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game while shooting 46.7% from the field and 37.3% from three-point land. As will be the case for every free-agent that the Nets go after, the price of the contract will matter and LeVert just finished a two-year, $32 million deal that he signed while with the Cavaliers.
During his first stint with the Nets, LeVert put up 13.1 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per contest while shooting 43.3% from the floor and 33.9% from deep. At this point of his career, LeVert would not fit the timeline for a Brooklyn team that was tied for the fifth-youngest roster in the league last season, but he would be a veteran that some of the younger players can learn from while still being able to produce at the same time.
