Jaden Ivey will receive his full $10M salary after being waived by the Chicago Bulls.
The Chicago Bulls will pay the full remaining salary of Jaden Ivey following a surprising turn of events that ended with the guard being waived by the team.
According to Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic, Ivey will still receive his full $10.1 million salary for the season, even after the Bulls waived him for what they described as “conduct detrimental to the team.”
Ivey previously made headlines for his Instagram Live sessions, where he shared controversial views on religion and criticized the NBA for celebrating Pride Month.
As a result, some fans raised concerns about his mental health, especially after Ivey openly admitted that he has been dealing with depression.
The fifth overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Ivey spent the first five seasons of his career with the Detroit Pistons before being traded to Chicago at the deadline.
He appeared in just four games for the Bulls, as the team shut him down for the remainder of the 2025–26 season due to lingering left knee pain.
During his brief stint in Chicago, Ivey averaged 11.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game.
