Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe and Sacramento Kings center Maxime Raynaud have been named the NBA Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month for games played in March, the league announced on Thursday.
Edgecombe is the eighth player in franchise history to win the award after averaging 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting 36.1% from 3-point range in 13 appearances. He led all rookies in the conference in scoring and total field goals (93).

The third overall pick registered six 20-point games, including a career-high 38 points, 11 assists, seven rebounds and two steals on March 19 in a win over the Kings. He became just the fourth Sixers rookie to tally at least 30 points and 10 assists in a game.
Raynaud averaged 17.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists on 59.5% shooting from the field in 15 games, becoming the ninth player in franchise history to receive the award. He led all rookies in rebounds (128) and double-doubles (6), and was second in points (110) in the month.
The 42nd overall pick became one of three rookies in history with at least 250 points and 125 rebounds while shooting 59% or better from the field in March, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Otis Thorpe. He is also the fourth in franchise history to record consecutive 30-point games.

Utah Jazz forward Ace Bailey and Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg were also among the nominees in the Western Conference. Charlotte Hornets guard Kon Knueppel and Washington Wizards forward Will Riley were nominated from the East.
