The San Antonio Spurs are shelving Victor Wembanyama this Thursday.

Going to Los Angeles against the Clippers, the Spurs decided to rule out the French superstar due to ankle injury management.

Facing the Clippers would mark the second night of San Antonio’s back-to-back road games. As such, the Spurs will let Wembanyama take a breather and could make him available again by Saturday in Denver.

Luke Kornet, Bismack Biyombo and Mason Plumlee are set to step up upon Wembanyama’s absence.

Wembanyama has been tearing it up as one of the top candidates for the MVP award. He is averaging 24.7 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.1 blocks across 61 games, leading the Spurs to the No. 2 seed of the West with a 68-18 record.
