Bam Adebayo had a great game for the Miami Heat on Wednesday night, racking up 29 points and 10 rebounds in his fifth straight double-double. It wasn’t enough to beat the Boston Celtics, however, who won 147-129 behind 43 points from Jaylen Brown and a historic triple-double from Jayson Tatum.

After the game, Adebayo and Tatum shared a long embrace and spoke for several minutes. They both covered their mouths during their conversation, so it’s unclear what was said.
During his postgame press conference, Adebayo teased Tatum about his return from his Achilles injury.
“I can tell he’s still out of shape but when you consider somebody like that your brother — we’ve known each other since we were like 12. You see what he’s gone through…you’re proud of him for pushing through it…you tip your hat off to somebody who’s been through that and still try to play,” Adebayo said.
Tatum finished with 25 points, 18 rebounds and 11 assists — the first Celtic since Larry Bird with those kinds of numbers — so clearly he’s not that out of shape. However, it’s fair to note that he’s still getting back into game shape and isn’t quite the same explosive player he was before the injury.

Adebayo and Tatum are the same age, debuted the same year and played against each other in college, so they go way back. Accordingly, it was nice to see Adebayo catch up with him and share a nice moment together after the game.
