The Cleveland Cavaliers (47-29) and Golden State Warriors (36-40) meet Thursday at Chase Center in San Francisco, California. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze NBA odds around the Cavaliers vs. Warriors odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Warriors lead 1-0. Golden State surprised the Cavs 99-94 in Cleveland on Dec. 6, as a 9-point underdog as the Under (229.5) comfortably cashed, halting a 4-game win and cover streak for the Cavaliers in the series.

The Cavs were unable to clinch a playoff spot Tuesday, falling 127-113 on the road against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Cavs were unable to cover as 2.5-point underdogs as the Over (236.5) cashed. C Jarrett Allen did his part, hitting 9-of-11 from the field and finishing with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal, while G James Harden chipped in with 17 points.

Cleveland is still a respectable 6-2 straight up (SU) in its past 8 games but just 1-4 against the spread (ATS) in its past 5, and 2-7 ATS in the previous 9 outings. The Over and Under has alternated in the past 6 games since March 21.

Golden State also lost 127-113 its last time out, on Wednesday night against the visiting San Antonio Spurs. Though the Dubs hung on for a cover as 15.5-point underdogs with the Over (228.5) cashing. It was a rare cover, though, as GSW is just 2-6 ATS in the past 8 games.

Currently 10th in the Western Conference, the Warriors are locked into a play-in spot as they cannot finish any higher than seventh. F Nate Williams led the way against the Spurs with 18 points while F Omer Yurtseven surprised with 17 off the bench and G LJ Cryer also scored 17. Golden State is 2.5 games back of Portland for the ninth spot with 6 games to go — and with a game in hand on the Trail Blazerss.

Cavaliers at Warriors picks and predictionsPrediction

Cavaliers 123, Warriors 109

The Cavaliers (-475) will cost you nearly 5 times your potential return, and that’s way too rich for a road favorite. Cleveland is playing good basketball lately, despite a loss to the Lakers last time out, and a playoff berth is still on the line. It needs a win to officially punch its ticket while also playing to hang onto the No. 4 spot and guarantee home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.

PASS and look to the spread instead.

CAVALIERS -10.5 (-105) is worth playing lightly, but proceed with caution. Remember, this is a Cleveland team which lost on its home floor in a low-scoring game against Golden State earlier in this season. Of course, the Warriors were much healthier then, though.

The Warriors are 2-6 ATS in their past 8 games and 4-9 ATS across their previous 13 outings, so they simply cannot be trusted.

OVER 228.5 (-110) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Over has cashed in 4 of the past 6 games for the Warriors and is 9-2 across Golden State’s last 11 home games.

For the Cavaliers, the O/U is 4-4 in the past 8 games but the Over has hit in 7 of the past 11 outings.
