Boston got a double serving of Flavor Flav this weekend, as the hip-hop legend hit up the Hub to watch the Red Sox and the Celtics on Sunday.
The Public Enemy rapper and hype man was tapped to throw out the first pitch at Fenway Park ahead of the Red Sox’s rubber match against the San Diego Padres (Boston would unfortunately go on to lose the game 8-6 on Sunday). Flav rocked a Red Sox hat and a Boston jersey emblazoned with his name and the number 1/2, as well as his iconic clock chain, as he took the mound, tossing a one-bounce pitch to Red Sox utility man Isiah Kiner-Falefa.
Flav also got the chance to reunite with Jordan Raney of the US women’s water polo team, who was in attendance at Fenway on Sunday and gave the rapper a hug, according to photos shared on Instagram. Flav famously became the official hype man for the men’s and women’s national water polo teams during the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

And while the Red Sox’s day didn’t end well, it was a good night for the Celtics, as Boston beat the Toronto Raptors 115-101. Flav was spotted sitting courtside at the game, still donning a Red Sox hat, while also sporting a red tracksuit.

Flav got some nice applause and cheers from the TD Garden crowd when he appeared on the stadium’s jumbo screen. The hip-hop star shared the moment on his Instagram page accompanied with the caption, “From the Green Monster to the green dream team.”
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member is no stranger to Boston and its beloved sports teams. Flav performed at Boston Calling in May along with fellow Public Enemy member Chuck D. At the festival, Flav rocked a Jayson Tatum jersey and wished the Celtics star well as he recovered from his brutal and season-ending Achilles’ injury last year.
