If NBA fans needed any further proof that the Boston Celtics should be taken seriously as a legitimate championship contender and have arguably the best duo in the league with Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, then Monday’s news might convince them.

“Jaylen Brown is the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the seventh time in his career. Brown averaged 31 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists this week while helping lead the Celtics to a 3-1 record,” Celtics reporter Bobby Krivitsky posted on Bluesky. “Jayson Tatum was also nominated for Eastern Conference Player of the Week.”

Brown’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week award on Monday comes on the heels of Tatum earning the honor on March 30.

Tatum’s earned the nod in seven straight seasons and 13 times overall in his career.

JB’s Monday accomplishment was his third Eastern Conference Player of the Week award this season after picking up the hardware on Dec. 7 and Dec. 28.

With the regular season ending on Sunday, Brown and Tatum will each have one more chance to add to their growing list of player of the week awards before the playoffs begin.
