Creating distance in the standings, the Oklahoma City Thunder had quite the penultimate week of the 2025-26 regular season. For the productive handful of games, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander received another NBA award.

The NBA announced that Gilgeous-Alexander was the Week 24 Western Conference Player of the Week. Jaylen Brown was the East’s winner.

Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 31.7 points, 5.7 assists and 5.3 rebounds. The Thunder went a perfect 3-0 in that span. That included wins over the Detroit Pistons, Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz. Other West nominees were Kevin Durant, Cooper Flagg, Jrue Holiday, Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Victor Wembanyama.

With the 2026 NBA playoffs, the Thunder are rolling at the right time — both on the court and in health. Feels like they’re peaking at the right time. ESPN’s latest MVP straw poll forecasts a runaway win for Gilgeous-Alexander as he had 88 first-place votes.
