The Toronto Raptors (-1, -112) and visiting Miami Heat (+1, -106) take the hardwood for the first of two games in three nights north of the border on Tuesday. The results of both encounters could have huge ramifications on the play-in tournament bracket in the Eastern Conference, with Toronto currently holding a two-game lead over Miami for the No. 6 seed as three other teams separate the two sides.
Here’s an expert pick and prop pick for this matchup at Scotiabank Arena on April 7, 2026, including an OVER (+102) for an RJ Barrett scoring prop (21.5).Â

Heat vs. Raptors Expert Pick TonightMiami Heat Moneyline (+102)
Miami is one of three teams (Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks) to have participated in the East’s play-in tournament format on at least three occasions, and a fourth is inevitable with just four games remaining and four teams to pass in the standings. The goal now becomes securing a No. 7 or No. 8 seed to avoid a scenario in which a single loss would result in elimination. Defeating the Raptors twice would go a long way towards accomplishing that, although it’s already 0-2 this season with a pair of defeats by double-digit margins. Norman Powell (O17.5 points, -122) is listed as probable after missing the last four games, as is Tyler Herro (O20.5 points, -114) following his absence during a 16-point victory over the Washington Wizards on April 4. It needs to be all hands on deck with so much at stake for the Heat, who’ve suffered from several self-inflicted wounds going 3-8 with three covers of the spread over their last 11 games to find themselves in this predicament. Â
Toronto had strung together five-straight victories and covers at home from March 8 through March 29 before suffering a demoralizing eight-point loss to the putrid Sacramento Kings on April 1 as the 12.5-point betting favorites. That marked the second of three defeats in it’s last four games, with the most recent coming on Sunday at TD Garden, falling 115-101 to the Boston Celtics. All three of Immanuel Quickley (foot), rookie Collin Murray-Boyles (quad), and Sandro Mamukelashvili (knee) are currently listed as questionable, and any combination of those three sitting would be a punch to the Raptors’ gut on Tuesday. Their offense has produced 115.6 points per 100 possessions over the last four games (20th), which is up from their season average of 114.6 points per 100 possessions, but just barely. The second unit is only producing 33.1 points per contest, as well, sitting 24th in the Association. Mamukelashvili and Murray-Boyles are the two leading scorers for the bench mob, and with no current assurances that they’ll be in uniform, it begs to question who will step up and provide the necessary depth for the starters.
It’s a blessing in disguise that the Heat get two cracks at Toronto, although a split wouldn’t do them many favors. The same logic rings true for the Raptors, though, as winning both games would all but lock up a coveted top-six seed. From a pure betting perspective, with the spread this tight, it’s best to lean towards the underdog, as you’re getting plus-money value from that end. The added reinforcements Miami is receiving, with the uncertainty of who will be playing for Toronto, reinforces the notion that wagering on the underdog is the way to go. The Heat are only 9-18 in the win-loss column for the season when a road underdog, but that record improves to 7-4 and 8-3 ATS when the spread is between 1.5 and 4.5 points.
Heat vs. Raptors Prop TonightRJ Barrett OVER 21.5 Points (+102)
RJ Barrett is averaging 20.9 points across 19 career games versus Miami, and he’s gone OVER Tuesday’s scoring prop of 21.5 in five of the last six meetings overall. The Heat’s defense ranks third from the bottom over the last 10 games at 127.5 points per 100 possessions, with the team’s top defenders being present in the frontcourt. If Barrett is going to be paired off with either Powell or Herro, then he could be in store for a few extra looks here and there as Bam Adebayo zeros in on the one-two punch of Scottie Barnes and Brandon Ingram. The Canadian guard has reached at least 20 points in seven of his last nine outings at home, which puts him in the ballpark of an OVER at plus money tonight, considering he needs 22 to nail this prop.Â
