Now San Antonio will try to grab another victory on Wednesday as they continue to climb there way past the Oklahoma City Thunder for the top seed in the West with the regular season nearing an end.
While the Spurs are looking to pick up a victory in Wednesday night’s matchup against the Trail Blazers, they are expected to be without one of their star players.
Spurs List Victor Wembanyama as Doubtful for Wednesday

This is crushing news for the Spurs as it appears as though Wembanyama is set to miss Wednesday’s game after he left Monday’s victory over the 76ers in the first half after suffering the injury.
While Wembanyama is expected to miss their game against the Trail Blazers, Charania also reported that there is confidence within the organization that the star big man will play in at least one of San Antonio’s final three games.

Of course, the 22-year-old star has to play at least 20 minutes in one of the Spurs’ final three games to meet the NBA’s 65-game threshold required for end-of-season awards as he is in the running for the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards, along with being a potential All-NBA selection.
While Wembanyama could return before the end of the regular season, San Antonio may also elect to rest him ahead of the playoffs as they attempt to make a run at a championship.

With Wembanyama sidelined, Luke Kornet will likely start in his place while Kelly Olynyk and Mason Plumlee could have increased roles off the bench until the star center is cleared to return.
