PADUCAH, Ky. — The NCAA offseason has come to an end, and each Local 6 college hoops team will look different entering the 2026-27 season. Below you’ll find each newcomer and departure from the 2025-26 season to the upcoming ’26-’27 campaign.
MURRAY STATE
Outlook: The Racers started hot, but struggled to end the season with 10 losses in their final 14 games. Despite that, year 1 under Ryan Miller saw a 20-win season that ended with a trip to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT). Miller will look to build around Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year, Roman Domon, who announced his return to the Racers on April 1.

Tenner and Layne Taylor split the point guard duties this season for Murray State, with Tenner starting 7 games and each of the final 4. The Memphis native averaged over 10 points per game over the final 8 contests of the season.
Taylor played in 31 games, starting 26 for the Racers this season, averaging 8 points per game, leading the team in assists at 3.3 per game.
Appeared in 30 games this season off the bench, averaging 2 points and 2 rebounds per game in just over 5 minutes per game of action.
SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
Outlook: The Salukis overcame a 2-7 start in Missouri Valley Conference play to finish with a 10-10 record in the league, but their season came to an end in the opening round of the MVC Tournament in year 2 under Scott Nagy.
