DeMar DeRozan continues to rise on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Lately, he surpassed Oscar Robertson for 16th with 26,702 points. Now he is closing in on Russell Westbrook, Elvin Hayes, Moses Malone, Carmelo Anthony, and Shaquille O’Neal.
Shaq is 10th on the all-time list. However, not everyone is keen on the idea of DeRozan replacing Shaq in the top ten. After one social media user said he found it “deeply disturbing”, DeRozan himself fired back against that person.
“Disturbing!? F*** that mean? Who the hell is you to have an opinion on somebody career. Clown!”
Altogether, Shaq has 28,596 career points. LeBron James is the all-time leading scorer with 43,368 points. The top five include Kareem-Abdul Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant. Recently, Durant surpassed Michael Jordan to reach 5th on the all-time list.
So far, DeRozan is averaging 18.4 points per game this season. Meanwhile, the Kings are 21-59 and have lost two consecutive games.
Altogether, DeRozan has been in the NBA since 2009, coming out of USC. He played with the Toronto Raptors from 2009 to 2018. Afterward, he played with the San Antonio Spurs from 2018 to 2021. Then, DeRozan played with the Chicago Bulls from 2021 to 2024 before being traded to the Kings.
During his career, DeRozan has become a six-time NBA All-Star. In 2016, he won an Olympic Gold Medal with Team USA during the Rio Games.
To reach the top 10 on the all-time list, DeRozan has to continue to remain in good standing and consistent. He would have to average 18 points over 105 games.
