OXFORD, Ohio – Miami University head men’s basketball coach Travis Steele announced the signing of Stevie Elam to his program for the 2026-27 season. Elam joins the RedHawks after spending one year at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

PRIOR TO MIAMI:


Played in 25 games and made 12 starts during his freshman season with UW-Milwaukee, recording 10.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.0 steals, 0.8 assists and 0.3 blocks
Earned a spot on the Horizon League All-Freshman Team.
Ranked 19th in rebounding in the Horizon League and 15th in the conference in threes made per game (2.0).
In league-only games, he ranked 11th in steals (1.3 spg).
Recorded 14 outings of 10-or-more points (second on team), including a pair of 20+ point performances (scored a season-high 22 points at Detroit Mercy Feb. 20).
Elam played four seasons at Adrian High School, where he earned Michigan High School First-Team All-State honors and All-County Boys Player of the Year after averaging 24.8 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game as a senior. 
He was also named First-Team All-Southeastern Conference in his final season at Adrian.
Broke the Lenawee County boys’ all-time MHSAA scoring record, finishing with 2,112 points as one of the Top 20 scorers in MHSAA history.
Recorded 176 3-pointers and converted 448 free throws in 530 attempts (84.5 percent) from the line in four varsity seasons.
Named Associated Press First Team All-State and Mitten Prep Hoops Division 2 First Team All-State as a junior after leading the county in scoring at 28.8 points per game.
Played with The Academy on the club circuit.
Honor roll member (3.8 GPA), all-academic team selection and played football, baseball and ran track in high school.
