Stephen Curry and the 10th-seeded Warriors head into the play-in tournament needing two consecutive road victories to face the Thunder in the first round. Curry cited season-long injuries as a major hurdle but remains focused on winning their upcoming elimination game at the Intuit Dome.

Golden State Warriors’ nightmare season is not over just yet.

Finishing as the 10th seed in the Western Conference with a 37-45 record, Warriors have a slight chance of making it into the playoffs if they win two away games in a row in the play-in tournament.

If they beat the Los Angeles Clippers in Intuit Dome, and the loser of the game between the Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers, Warriors will be set for a first round matchup against Oklahoma City Thunder.

Speaking to the media reporters after last night’s loss to the Clippers away 115-110 in the same venue where they will face off again in three days, Stephen Curry acknowledged that this is the 4th time that he will play in the play-in tournament, and second time that they will be there as the 10th seed.

“So, we’ve been 10th twice now?” Curry asked before he laughed upon confirmation.

“I guess, yeah, grateful for it now. Just because you have one game and hopefully another game to keep your season alive.”

“This is such a unique year the way it’s going, because you didn’t underperform. It’s just that so many players were injured that you had to change the focus and objectives at some point. We tried bringing guys at Trade Deadline and returning injured players as much as we could, but I’m excited to play another game for sure,” he concluded.
