The Nevada women’s basketball team has signed freshman guard Dyllyn Howell, the Wolf Pack announced on social media Monday.

Howell signed with Sacramento State in November before asking out of her commitment last week.

A 6-foot guard from South Medford (Ore.) High, Howell played for one of the West Coast’s top teams the last three seasons. South Medford won state during Howell’s sophomore season and fell in the state title game last year, ranking 81st in the nation, per MaxPreps, after going 23-3.

Howell was a three-time all-conference honoree and two-time all-state selection. During a game in January, Howell made a school-record nine 3-pointers in a career-best 34-point effort in which she went 10-of-13 from the field and 9-of-12 from deep. In the state semifinal, Howell made four consecutive 3-pointers and scored 17 points to lead South Medford to a 56-55 upset of defending champion Tualatin. She also had the game-winning alley-oop pass as time expired.

Howell played with two other Division I players at South Medford, including San Diego State signee Mayenabasi Akpan and Jordan Barlow, who will play for Sacramento State. Howell is the second known high school signee in Nevada’s 2026 class, joining Reed High’s Taua Puloka, who signed with the Wolf Pack in November.

A shooting guard/small forward, Howell signed with Sac State in the the November early period before announcing in April 2 she was decommitting. She will now join Nevada, which is led by first-year head coach Kelly Sopak, who was hired March 24. Howell’s brother, Bodey, was the Gatorade player of the year in Idaho and a freshman at Rice last season.
