MJ Thomas, a 6-foot-8 sophomore forward, is transferring to UNLV after two productive seasons at New Orleans, according to reports.
Thomas averaged 10.8 points and eight rebounds per game in 2025-26, logging nearly 27 minutes a night. He dropped 17 points on nationally ranked Houston, going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line. He was 7-for-7 from the line in a 13-point effort against Mississippi State.
As a freshman, the Denton, Texas, native put up 11.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for New Orleans.
He’s the second transfer into the UNLV program this week, joining rising sophomore from Florida State Cam Miles.
