The New Orleans Pelicans have formally started their internal restructuring, already notifying several members of the organization that they will be let go.

The New Orleans Pelicans have formally started major changes and restructuring within their organization on Friday, with several staff members already informed via email that they will not be retained, per Pelicans reporter Shamit Dua.

The internal overhauling will continue in the next couple of months in the wake of the team’s brutal end to the 2025-26 season.

The Pelicans failed to reach the NBA Playoffs after yet another disappointing year. They capped off the season with a 26-56 record.

Other than making needed reshuffling within the franchise, NOLA’s top executive Joe Dumars will also make a major decision on who will be the team’s permanent head coach.

James Borrego took over on an interim basis after head coach Willie Green was dismissed following a horrible 2-10 season start.

Featuring Zion Williamson, Dejounte Murray, Trey Murphy III, Herbert Jones and several talented young players from Jeremiah Fears and Derik Queen, the Pelicans are facing an urgent offseason to prepare and redeem themselves for the next 2026-27 outing.
