Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Miami Heat are two things that continue to be a potential scenario for the two parties. The Milwaukee Bucks teased the possibility once again.
Former Heat player Goran Dragic had Antetokounmpo on the latest episode of the Gogi’s Garage podcast. Dragic teased Antetokounmpo about his knee issues and that he needs a nice warm climate to recover, and Antetokounmpo plays along calling Miami a ‘beautiful city.’
“You’re 31 years old, so you need to think about your knees. You know, to be loose. So you need a warm climate man,” Dragic said.
“Hey, Miami is not a bad place. Beautiful, beautiful city. Beautiful city,” Antetokounmpo responded.
What’s next for Giannis Antetokounmpo amid Heat rumors
Giannis Antetokounmpo has been with the Bucks franchise for 13 years and counting. However, following many first-round exits and missing the playoffs this year, his time might be coming to an end.
Antetokounmpo went through an injury-riddled campaign throughout the 2025-26 season. He appeared in 36 games as he averaged 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. He had shooting splits of 62.4% from the field, including 33.3% from beyond the arc, and 65% from the free-throw line.
There are teams that will be in intense pursuit of Antetokounmpo’s services. Those could be the Heat, New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors. All three teams would have the packages ready in the offseason to give Milwaukee the best offer available.
The Heat are in an intriguing situation going into the summer. They finished with a 43-39 record throughout the 2025-26 campaign, exiting from the play-in tournament after losing to the 9-seed Charlotte Hornets.
Miami hasn’t had the same form since reaching the NBA Finals in 2023. They suffered back-to-back first-round exits in 2024 and 2025 but fail to make the playoffs this time around.
Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro have stood out as the star players but will be in need of significant retooling across the roster. This presents the possibility of Antetokounmpo coming to South Beach.
