It’s been quite the offseason for newly hired Lady Vols assistant coach Isoken Uzamere. After being hired by Kim Caldwell to replace Roman Tubner on Tennessee’s staff, she’s been instantly thrown into a recruiting frenzy. UT had no returning players from last year’s roster and was forced to put together an entirely new team in a hurry.

It doesn’t take long to see the impact Uzamere has had in this effort. Most recently on staff at Georgia, she’s helped land both Rylie Theuerkauf and Zhen Craft from the Bulldogs’ roster a year ago. She also helped land Auburn transfer Harissoum Coulibaly, who signed with UGA before departing for the Tigers instead out of high school.

With her help landing other targets without the obvious ties, it’d be a busy month with that job alone for Uzamere. However, that’s far from all she’s done. Fellow new Tennessee assistant Bill Ferrara gave her public praise for the work she’s doing coaching the Nigerian National Team, as well.

“Shoutout to (Uzamere),” Ferara posted on X. “Runs to Tennessee with us. Crushing the portal. Coaching the Nigerian National Team in San Diego…preparing them for games vs teams from the @WNBA this week. REDEYES BACK for the visit yesterday. Helps us land a BIG commit. Flies back immediately.”

More From RTI: TRANSFER TRACKER: Updated Look at Lady Vols Basketball Six Transfer Portal Commitments

So far, the Lady Vols have landed six portal commitments and a new high school commitment this offseason. However, Ferrara has also teased a pair of incoming commitments that are yet to be announced at this point.

While it’s a total team effort to land commitments, Uzamere is clearly pulling her weight.

“We are thrilled to welcome Isoken Uzamere to our staff,” Caldwell said at the time of the hire. “She is highly-regarded in our profession and has consistently demonstrated the skill set and personal characteristics to be a valued contributor in her previous stops. We are very happy to have her join our program.”
