Drake’s presence at Toronto Raptors games has long been part of the franchise’s identity. The rapper is a regular courtside figure, often engaging with players and even exchanging words with opponents during heated moments.
His seats at Scotiabank Arena are well-known among fans, symbolising his close connection to the team. And that courtside spot once again drew attention during Thursday night’s 126-104 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.
However, this time it was not his behaviour but the appearance of his seats that stood out, as a unique promotional stunt tied to his music career drew attention.

For the Cavaliers game on Thursday night, Drake’s usual courtside set-up was transformed with an icy theme, reflecting the rollout of his upcoming album Iceman, which is scheduled for release on 15 May.
The seats appeared frozen over, aligning with a wider promotional campaign that has already caught attention across Toronto recently.
Earlier in the week, Drake placed the album’s release date inside a giant frozen structure in downtown Toronto, challenging fans to break it open and reveal the information.
Fans responded in large numbers, using tools such as picks and even a flamethrower to melt the structure, turning the reveal into a public spectacle that quickly spread across social media.
Fans question Drake’s latest promotional approach
Reaction online has been mixed, with several fans voicing criticism of the campaign on X.
One fan wrote: “The fact Drake thinks he is still relevant is actually hilarious, he buys all his clout.”
“Drakes era is over. It’s obvious because he’s trying so hard to be relevant. Shouldn’t one of those chairs be a wheelchair?” added another one.
“The ice age killed the dinosaurs man what the f— is this,” questioned a third fan, referencing the Raptors’ mascot.
A fourth person wrote: “Those seats look like his rap career.”
