Reaves, who remains questionable for Friday’s contest, is doing all he can to be on the court after sustaining a left oblique muscle strain.
“Austin Reaves is on his way; he’s getting ready to come back,” Charania said. “My understanding is that Austin Reaves is trying to play in Game 3 tonight, if not Game 3 then Game 4. He started on court work in the last several days. He’s progressed through it; there have been no setbacks. You think about the timeline four-to-six weeks, he definitely has a chance to beat that by a hair.”
The 27-year-old star has been out for the past three weeks after suffering the injury on April 2 in a contest against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Reaves has been the Lakers second best player behind Luka Doncic all season long. The former undrafted guard has been stellar, averaging 23.3 points per game, 4.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists while shooting 49 percent from the field in 51 games.

Lakers Defy Odds Early in Series
To many people’s surprise, the Lakers hold a 2-0 series lead over the Rockets. The Lakers entered the series as massive underdogs without Doncic and Reaves in the lineup; however, they have defied the odds thus far.
The true test now comes as L.A. hits the road for the next two games on Friday and Sunday. However, with Reaves on track to be back on the court and only needing two wins to advance to the second round, the Lakers have the clear advantage in this series.
