D1Baseball has Florida listed as the No. 8 seed and a regional host in its NCAA Tournament field-of-64 projections as of April 21.

The Gators are grouped with No. 25 Southern California (USC), UCF and Yale. Florida’s No. 10 RPI ranking and third-toughest strength of schedule anchor the case for the Gators. The Gators have a nation-leading 13 wins against Quadrant teams, including a 12-4 record against top-25 teams as of Saturday.

Florida just took Game 1 of a weekend series against Texas A&M, proving it can compete with the best teams in the country and that Kevin O’Sullivan has once again constructed a roster capable of making a deep run to Omaha. O’Sullivan recently described the final stretch as a 12-game season to get right before the playoffs. A recent 1-4 run led to a loss of team identity, but the Florida skipper feels like Friday’s win got them back on track.

D1Baseball’s projection is not an official bracket, but it offers a snapshot of where teams stand entering the final weeks. It is assembled by Mark Etheridge, Kendall Rogers and Aaron Fitt, who have a combined 60 years of experience covering college baseball.

Florida’s path is clear: win series, remove doubt.
