Duke guard/forward Dame Sarr will continue to live out his dream. On Friday, it was confirmed that Sarr is returning for the 2026-27 season, per NCAA March Madness.

Sarr, 19, arrived at Duke from Italy in May 2025. In his first season, he averaged 6.4 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Overall, he started in 30 out of 38 games. Sarr scored a career-high 19 points against Army in November 2025. Along the way, Sarr became a versatile two-way player under head coach Jon Schyer, especially on defense.

Sarr recorded 37 steals and was honored as part of the 2026 All-ACC Defensive Team. In the NCAA tournament, Sarr was an instrumental figure coming off the bench for injured players. Sarr had a strong performance in the second round game against TCU. He scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Duke made it all the way to the Elite Eight before losing to UConn 73-72 in one of the most dramatic games in recent tournament history.

Lately, the Blue Devils have seen notable players leave for either the transfer portal or the NBA Draft. Freshman sensation Cameron Boozer is heading for the NBA Draft. Guard Isaiah Evans declared for the Draft on Wednesday. UConn picked up forward Nikolas Khamenia in the transfer portal.

Nevertheless, Cayden Boozer, the younger brother of Cameron Boozer, announced he would be returning. Additionally, future first-round pick Patrick Ngongba II is returning next season, as is guard Caleb Foster.
