Lady Vols basketball has landed another guard with a high offensive upside through the transfer portal. On Saturday night, Seton Hall transfer Jada Eads announced her commitment to join Kim Caldwell for her third season coaching Tennessee.

What are the Lady Vols getting in Eads, though? Well, first, it’ll be interesting to monitor what her availability looks like this offseason. Eads suffered a torn ACL in January of this past year and is currently in the midst of recovering from the injury.

Prior to the season-ending blow, the 5-foot-7 guard was averaging 10.6 points per game on 35.8% shooting from the field and 29.4% on threes. She also contributed 5.1 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game in 26.6 minutes per outing.

Those shooting splits will need to improve, but she showed the ability to make extremely tough shots at Seton Hall. With less of an emphasis on creating her own shot and others to help score, she could see those numbers rise, though.

Despite being undersized, her rebounding numbers also jump out. She’s shown the will to be physical and scrap for balls, which any team will obviously take. On defense, this translates into steals, which may carry over in a big way to Caldwell’s system.
