It’s a chance to add a talented young player to their organization. And hey, if the lottery odds work out just right, maybe it can also be a boost to their entire future.

By missing the actual playoffs (losing in the play-in tournament), the Warriors are a part of the draft lottery that’ll take place in a couple weeks. And that gives them a chance of the very top of the draft board.

Golden State Warriors’ NBA Draft Lottery odds

The Warriors have the 11th-best lottery odds overall.

That does give them a chance of getting into the top-four, though.

These are the odds for those picks:

Beyond that, the Warriors have a 77.6% chance of ending up with the 11th pick.

There’s a 12.6% chance they pick 12th.

The 13th pick has just a 0.4% chance. And the 14th pick is technically possible but is a less than 0.1% chance.

Those top-three picks in particular are notable — they’re expected to be used on a big three in some order of BYU’s AJ Dybantsa, Kansas’ Darryn Peterson and Duke’s Cameron Boozer.

The Warriors don’t have a huge chance, but yep, there’s a chance.
