Oklahoma City Thunder sweep first round for third straight year

The Oklahoma City Thunder have won 12 consecutive first-round playoff games, marking their third straight year of sweeping the opening round.

TWO. IT’S EXACTLY WHAT SGA SAID AFTER THE GAME ON MONDAY. AND SO HERE WE ARE, RIGHT ROUND TWO PLAYING THE BIGGEST GAMES OF THE SEASON AND THE OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER. THEY’RE RIGHT WHERE THEY WANT TO BE PLAYING THEIR BEST BASKETBALL AT THE RIGHT TIME OF THE SEASON. NOW, THE MATHIS HOME THUNDER PLAYOFF. UPDATE, 131122 HERE IN GAME FOUR. AND THE THUNDER ABLE TO SWEEP BREAK OUT THE BROOMS FOR A THIRD YEAR IN A ROW. THREE YEARS AND THREE SWEEPS IN. ROUND ONE FOR OKC. TOOK IT ALL THE WAY IN AND SOMEHOW GETS THE ROLE. IT’S REALLY GETTING NO CONNECTION TO THE LAST TWO YEARS. EVERY YEAR IS A NEW YEAR. EVERY SERIES, A NEW SERIES, EVERY GAME, A NEW GAME. AND SO EVEN IF HEAD COACH MARK DAYTON DOESN’T WANT ANY PART OF A HISTORY LESSON, YOU KNOW, WE JUST TRY TO ATTACK THIS THING IN TWO WEEK CHUNKS. YOU KNOW, ALL YOU’RE GUARANTEED IS THE ROUND YOU’RE IN. WE’VE EARNED THE RIGHT TO PLAY THE SECOND ROUND. AND NOW THAT’S WHERE OUR FOCUS IS. THE THUNDER OF WON 12 STRAIGHT GAMES IN ROUND ONE. IT’S THE MOST IN THE FIRST ROUND SINCE THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WON 12 GAMES IN A ROW. WITH LEBRON JAMES AT THE HELM FROM 2015 TO 2017. IT IS A REALLY GOOD FEELING JUST FOR LIKE CONFIDENCE WISE. AS A GROUP, IT’S GOOD TO GET LIKE THE PLAYOFF RUN STARTED OFF THAT WAY. LIKE IT’S JUST IMPORTANT TO GET OFF TO A GOOD FOOT. LIKE YOU WANT TO GIVE YOURSELF AS MANY DAYS AS YOU CAN REST. AND THE MORE, THE MORE YOU CAN SWEEP, THE BETTER OFF. AND THE MORE DAYS YOU HAVE TO REST. SO IT’S PRETTY IMPORTANT. SGA STEPS BACK AND WAITING IN THE WINGS FOR THE OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER TO GET ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA. IN ROUND TWO, LEBRON JAMES AND THE LA LAKERS, OR KEVIN DURANT AND THE HOUSTON ROCKETS. RIGHT NOW, THE LAKERS LEAD THAT SERIES THREE GAMES TO ONE WITH GAME FIVE ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT IN LOS ANGELES. THEY’RE OBVIOUSLY GOING TO BE A REALLY GOOD TEAM. YOU KNOW, MAKE IT TO THE SEMIFINALS OF THE WESTERN CONFERENCE PLAYOFFS. IF YOU’RE NOT. IT’LL EITHER BE THE LAKERS OR HOUSTON. SO THEY EACH POSE THEIR CHALLENGES. HOUSTON IS LIKE MORE DEFENSIVE AND LAKERS ARE MORE OFFENSIVE, BUT THEY’RE BOTH REALLY GOOD TEAMS. AND TO MAKE IT OUT THAT SERIES, YOU GOT TO BE YOU HAVE TO DO A LOT OF THINGS RIGHT. SO SO WE WON’T TAKE THEM LIGHTLY. YOU KNOW WE HAVE TO PROVE IT AGAIN. WE HAVE TO. NOTHING’S GOING TO BE GIVEN TO US. JUST BECAUSE YOU WON LAST YEAR DOESN’T MEAN YOU’RE GUARANTEED TO WIN. AND SO I THINK THAT’S THE APPROACH WE’RE KIND OF TAKING. THUNDER GET A FEW DAYS OFF, GET TO REST. WE STILL DON’T KNOW ABOUT THE STATUS OF JALEN WILLIAMS. YOU KIND OF KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED ON HERE. AND THAT LAKERS ARE A LITTLE BIT BANGED UP. LUKA DONCIC DON’T KNOW IF HE COULD PLAY. KEVI
