You will see plenty of thoughtful analysis about the playoffs, breaking down why each series has played out the way it has thus far. But you may also see posts that break your brain and wonder what reality you are living in, too, like a weird trend where folks are posting about a series between the Golden State Warriors and and Memphis Grizzlies.

In this completely fake series that is not rooted in any reality whatsoever, tonight is Game 5. Here is one example, shared by Underdog, the daily fantasy sports platform:

Posts like this spread like wildfire, especially when real companies are the ones polluting the internet with nonsense.

Others are attributing specific information about the game to ESPN’s Shams Charania, who obviously never said anything about a game that will never happen.

Naturally, many people are confused:
