Jaylen Brown and the Boston Celtics were eliminated on Sunday after losing Game 7 of their NBA playoffs Eastern Conference first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. They led 3-1 but lost three consecutive games, including the finale at TD Center.
NBA analyst Kendrick Perkins didn’t hold back and fired shots at the five-time All-Star for failing to lead his team to the conference semifinals.

“This sh⸺ right here you talking, miss me with all of this sh⸺,” Perkins said on “The Road Trippin’ Show.” “You up 3-1 motherf⸺, your a⸺ flop at times to sell calls. I don’t want to hear that.
“… Y’all died by the three, y’all was up 3-1 in this series. You f⸺ lost three home games in the Boston Garden. Three. It used to be a sacred place. It used to be a hard place for opponents to win games in there. But instead, Tyrese Maxey, Joel Embiid walked into your motherf⸺ crib shoes all muddy and kick they feet up on your coffee table, ordered DoorDash with your credit card, that’s how comfortable they was.”

The Celtics played without Jayson Tatum, who dealt with knee stiffness. Brown tried his best to will his team to victory, producing 33 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three blocks. However, his production wasn’t enough. Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey, VJ Edgecombe and Paul George combined for 100 points.
Lack of firepower doomed the Celtics
Five players recorded double-digit points for Boston. Brown received help from Derrick White, Neemias Queta, Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser, but no other Celtic scored outside of them.

Tatum’s absence was felt throughout the game as the team struggled with their 3-point shooting, converting only 13 of its 49 attempts. The four-time All-NBA first-team member is a career 36.9% shooter from beyond the arc and is known for his clutch gene.
The abrupt end to the Celtics’ season gives their front office more time to ponder their next moves. Tatum missed the bulk of the campaign while recovering from an Achilles tear. The franchise may now opt to be extra aggressive in free agency to surround its stars with more talent.
