Indiana Pacers guard Andrew Nembhard will ride in the two-seater Saturday at the start of the Sonsio Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.

The Pacers have close ties to the Speedway. Tyrese Haliburton drove the Indianapolis 500 pace car at the start of the 2023 race.

Victor Oladipo drove the Indy 500 pace car in 2018, and Reggie Miller waved the green flag to start the race in 2005.

No Pacers participated in Speedway activities in 2025 because they were busy making a run to the NBA Finals. They didn’t make the playoffs this year.
