Circleville is searching for its next Varsity Girls Basketball Head Coach following the resignation of Josh Blakeman, which comes on the heels of a remarkable season.

Blakeman stepped up when health reasons forced Mike Meddock to step down just days before the 2025-26 season began. What followed was a historic season for Circleville Girls Basketball, reaching the Division IV Final Four for the first time. The Tigers finished the season 23-5.

Blakeman’s Tigers stunned Indian Creek in the Regional Championship game, holding them to just 26-points, then handled the defending State Champ Bellevue right up to the final minute before falling 46-43 in the State Semi-Final.

Circleville nearly finished the Mid State League Buckeye schedule without a mark. Their lone loss was to Logan Elm (53-38), but that was avenged in the District Championship game (53-37) at Logan High School in February before the team’s memorable run to Dayton.

The Tigers return all but one player on the roster, as Blakeman’s daughter Maddie was the only senior on the team.
