SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Utah Jazz fans are justifiably tired of seeing their favorite all-star leave the market as a free agent or encourage a trade behind the scenes.

But now, a pair of small-market teams in Oklahoma City and Indiana have used that scenario to advance to the NBA Finals.

Paul George was drafted by the Pacers, but first he wanted out of Indiana and then Oklahoma City. Long-time Jazz employee Richard Smith explains how the Thunder and Pacers used George’s trade requests to acquire the players who have now led them to the NBA Finals.

Smith also examines the NBA Draft. Dylan Harper is widely expected to be the second pick in the draft, but is Harper so good, the Jazz has no chance to move up, because the Spurs will never trade the pick?
