The Los Angeles Clippers suddenly find themselves in a strong position after landing the No. 5 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. What once looked like a lost asset turned into a valuable opportunity after the Indiana Pacers failed to keep their protected selection in the top four. Now, the Clippers must decide whether to use the pick themselves or turn it into immediate help for a roster still trying to compete around Kawhi Leonard.
One of the most interesting possibilities involves the Milwaukee Bucks becoming a trade partner. Reports suggest Milwaukee could be willing to move up in the draft as the organization prepares for uncertainty surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future. The Bucks currently own the No. 10 pick, and analysts believe they may value a higher selection enough to negotiate with Los Angeles.
For the Clippers, trading down could solve multiple issues at once. The projected talent pool around the fifth selection is loaded with guards, while Los Angeles has more pressing needs in the frontcourt and on the wing. By sliding down a few spots, the Clippers could still draft a promising young player while also acquiring veterans who fit their current championship timeline.
Several Bucks players could attract the Clippers’ interest. Myles Turner has been mentioned as a potential target because Los Angeles needs rim protection and frontcourt depth. AJ Green could also help the Clippers improve their outside shooting, which has been inconsistent in recent seasons. A package involving the No. 10 pick and veteran contributors may allow the Clippers to remain competitive immediately without fully sacrificing their future.
