ORLANDO, Fla. — For most sports fans, going to every arena for their favorite teams is a bucket list item. But for Youtuber Justin Leusner, it’s his next challenge.
“We’re going to Guinness World record,” said Leusner. “No one has ever attempted 30 arenas in 30 days. Someone did 29 arenas back when it was the Staples Center and the Clippers and Lakers shared it. No one has ever done 30 in 30.”
For a month he has traveled all across the country to watch his favorite sport.
In order to document his journey and make it official, he created a scrapbook that two people at each arena had to sign saying they witnessed him there.
Before coming to the Orlando Magic’s game against the Cleveland Cavaliers at the Kia Center, Justin was able to witness history in South Beach the night before.
“Day 15, Bam Adebayo drops 83 points to break Kobe Bryant’s record for 2nd place and we got to witness it,” he said. “Are you kidding me, what are the odds?”
That wasn’t the only memory he created.
“Billy the Bull sprayed me with silly string,” said Leusner showing the scrap-book. “This is the remnants of that. So, he got me. It’s 1-0 Benny, but I will be back.”
Besides all the fun, Justin partnered with Make-A-Wish to raise $100,000 for the foundation.
“The NBA is even helping us with access to every arena,” he said. “It’s a lot of really cool people coming together. There’s like 30 people working on this contest. Not just me.”
Justin would go on to exceed the $100,000 goal. He did visit every NBA arena, just in 31 days not 30.
