Portal season, officially, is now finished in Columbia, Missouri.

Missouri basketball added the 15th and final piece to its 2026-27 season roster Sunday evening, as Western Carolina transfer guard Cord Stansberry announced via social media that he has committed to the Tigers.

Stansberry is a 6-foot-4 guard with one remaining season of eligibility. He previously played at Pepperdine before spending the last two seasons with Western Carolina.

In 30 games, he averaged 14.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. He shot 35.9% from the field and 29.6% from 3-point range.

Stansberry is Mizzou’s sixth transfer addition this offseason, following Kansas forward Bryson Tiller, Tennessee big man Jaylen Carey, Providence wing Jamier Jones, BYU guard Kennard Davis Jr. and South Dakota guard Jordan Crawford.

Three players transferred out of Mizzou this offseason, all guards: Anthony Robinson II (Florida State); T.O. Barrett (Vanderbilt); and Sebastian Mack (uncommitted).

Stansberry scored 10 or more points in 24 of his 30 games last season. He’s likely to be a depth piece for Mizzou as he makes the jump from the Southern Conference to the SEC.

Before transferring to Western Carolina, Stansberry — a Bermuda Springs, California, native — redshirted his freshman year at Pepperdine and averaged 12.0 minutes and 4.1 points per game in his second year.

Under NCAA rules, teams can have 15 players on their roster each season. With the addition of Stansberry, the Tigers have now reached that maximum.

That means Gates’ roster for the 2025-26 season is now finalized.
