The Milwaukee Bucks have remained in the news thanks to Giannis Antetokounmpo and his future with the franchise. But the team has also been in media circles after a recent Myles Turner interview turned heads.
Turner recently appeared on New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart’s Game Recognize Game podcast, where he appeared to throw former head coach Doc Rivers under the bus for never fining players for being late to practices, film sessions, or flights.
Everyone reacted to the quotes, with people calling out Myles Turner for outing Giannis Antetokounmpo as the player who was always late.
On Monday, however, former NFL star Shannon Sharpe to his show, Nightcap with Chad Johnson and Joe Johnson, to call out Giannis Antetokounmpo for essentially throwing his coach under the bus with his actions.
“Ain’t no way in hell,” Shannon Sharpe said on his NightCap Show. “My coach is my complexion. I know how hard it is to get jobs like that. Ain’t no way I undercut him. No way. If I could show up for Dan Reed, if I could show up for Wade Phillips, if I could show up for Mike Shanahan, Brian Billick, I’m damn sure showing up for Herm Edwards, I’m damn sure showing up for Mike Tomlin. I’m damn sure showing up for Tony Dungee. I’m damn sure showing up for rest his soul Dennis Green. There is no way in hell because I know how hard it was for them to get that position. and now I’m one of their best players and I’m late? Nah, hell nah.

The NFL has only had 26 African American coaches in its over 100 year history, so it’s understandable where Sharpe is coming from.
The Milwaukee Bucks and Doc Rivers parted ways at the end of the 2025-26 season. Giannis Antetokounmpo was said to be involved, or at least kept in the loop, with the franchise’s hiring of Taylor Jenkins, so his future very much remains up in the air.
