Although they have a pick outside of the top ten, that doesn’t seem to be holding the Golden State Warriors back from surveying the 2026 NBA draft class, including one of the top point guard prospects on the draft board.
According to Kevin McPherson of Hogville.net, the Warriors recently met with Arkansas Razorback point guard Darius Acuff.

After one season under John Calipari, the former five-star recruit is widely considered one of the top prospects in the upcoming draft. Most mock drafts currently have Acuff going off the board in the five-to-seven range in the first round of the upcoming draft. To land a player like Acuff, the Warriors would likely have to trade, barring a surprise fall on draft night.
On the way to being named a consensus All-American and the SEC Player of the Year, the Detroit native led the Razorbacks with 23.5 points on 48.4% shooting from the field and 44% from long distance. Acuff added 6.4 assists and 3.1 rebounds per contest.

Acuff can absolutely fill it up from everywhere on the court, scoring 30 or more points on six different occasions in his first season in Fayetteville. Acuff caught fire in a thrilling game against Alabama, scoring a career-best 49 points with six made 3-pointers.
Following players like John Wall, Shai Gilgeous Alexander, Jamal Murray and De’Aaron Fox, Acuff looks to be next in the long line of point guards to have success in the NBA after being coached by Calipari at the college level.
