After parting ways with their head coach of six years, Billy Donovan, the Chicago Bulls are searching for potential replacements. According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, one of those candidates could be Charlotte Hornets assistant coach Lamar Skeeter. Fischer reported that the Bulls have requested permission to interview Skeeter for the position.

Given Charlotte’s success last season, Skeeter may be in high demand. With head coach Charles Lee and the Hornets staff, the team improved their win total by 25, posting a 44-38 record after a 19-63 season a year prior. Not only that, but Charlotte put together a tremendous season offensively. The Hornets ranked fifth in offensive rating, first in 3-pointers made per game, third in 3-point percentage and fifth in rebounding. Considering the league’s continued reliance on the 3-point shot, Skeeter could be a solid candidate to transform Chicago’s offense.
