OKLAHOMA CITY (WFSB) – Stephon Castle was key piece of the University of Connecticut men’s basketball team’s 2023 NCAA Tournament title.
Now, he’s a key piece of an NBA franchise with a shot advancing to the NBA Finals.
Castle’s talents were on display Wednesday night during game 2 of the Western Conference finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder may have won the game 122-113 and tied the series 1-1, but Castle had perhaps the most viral moment of the game.
The former Husky posterized the Thunder’s Isaiah Hartenstein during the first half of the game.
Castle finished with 25 points and 8 assists in the loss.
During the Spurs 122-115 overtime win in Game 1, he pitched in with 17 points and 11 assists.
The Spurs and Thunder face off again in Game 3 on Friday at 8:30 p.m.
