Although he’s not a top prospect, former Duke forward Maliq Brown was still invited to the 2026 NBA Draft Combine, working out in front of NBA scouts as he seeks his first professional opportunity.

Despite being ranked No. 79 in ESPN’s NBA Draft big board, Brown has a pre-draft workout scheduled with the Sacramento Kings.

In two seasons with the Blue Devils, primarily off the bench, Brown averaged 3.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals in 18.4 minutes per game.

Considering that the Kings hold the No. 7, No. 34 and No. 45 selections, this workout will likely determine if the Kings wish to pursue Brown on a two-way contract, an Exhibit 10 contract or a Summer League contract. If unable to impress Sacramento, Brown will likely have other workout opportunities leading up to the June draft.
