The Charlotte Hornets put together an incredible 2025-26 campaign, improving their win total by 25 wins from a season prior and finishing ninth in the Eastern Conference. Now as their offseason continues, the Hornets will be looking to maximize their assets to build on their current momentum. In a recent asset ranking by Bobby Marks of ESPN, the former Brooklyn Nets assistant general manager ranked the Hornets No. 1.

Marks cited Charlotte’s two first-round selections in the upcoming 2026 NBA Draft as key assets, in addition to three potential first-round picks in next year’s draft. One of those potential first-round picks would come from the Dallas Mavericks, in the previous PJ Washington deal that sent Grant Williams to Charlotte. After finishing 12th in the Western Conference last season, there’s reason to believe that selection could be a high lottery pick. With all of these assets at their disposal, the Hornets are in prime position to make a big swing sooner or later.
