Brown is set to become officially eligible in July for a new two-year, $142 million extension. He is currently playing under the five-year, $285.4 million supermax deal he signed in 2023, which runs through the 2028-29 season.

The situation adds another layer of intrigue around his long-term future, especially after a strong individual campaign where he stepped up as the main option when Jayson Tatum was sidelined.

Brown delivered a career year, averaging 28.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.1 assists. His production kept Boston competitive even in a season where he carried a heavier offensive load.

His performance earned him All-NBA Second Team honors, where he joined Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Jalen Brunson, and Donovan Mitchell. It marks only the second All-NBA selection of his career.
